Baby Potato Biryani

Hey foodies.. Welcome back.. Hope you all had great time celebrating festival n wish you all a very happy new year.

Made this spl yummy baby potato biryani for my in laws n they were like super happy n mmmmmm...

So here is the recipe for you..!!

Ingredients

Basmati rice - 1 cup
Small potato - 20
Onions - 2 slitted
Tomato - 1 big
Water - 1& 1/4 cup
Fresh Curd - 1/4 cup
Coriander leaves - 1/3 cup
Salt - to taste 
Coriander seeds - 1 tsp
Red chilli - 3 - 4
Red chilly powder - 1 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Biryani masala - 1 1/2 tsp
Coconut scrapping (optional roast) - 2 tblsp
Green chilli - 3 - 4
Oil - 3 tbsp
Ghee - 2 tbsp




Instructions

Wash n soak rice for minimum 30 minutes.

(OPTIONAL) Pressure cook small potato for 2 whistles and peel off skin n keep aside.

Take cooker n fry coriander seeds, red chilli n coconut slices r grated until golden brown.



Once roasted, take in mixie and grind it with coriander leaves and curd to smooth paste.





In same cooker heat with 2 tblsp of oil and add the boiled small potatoes to have them roasted in golden brown and keep aside.



In same cooker take oil / ghee and season with jeera mustard and hing.


Now add sliced onion and fry till golden brown.


Nextly add finely chopped tomatoes and fry till soft.


Now add the ground paste and spices to it with biryani masala.



Once the raw smell goes off add spices and required salt.



Fry for a minute and baby potatoes to it and add biryani masala.




When the oil seperates, finally add the soaked rice draining water.



Add 1 & 1/4 cup of water and mix well.

Check for salt n spice, add lil ghee for extra flavor and pressure cook for 2 whistles or 10-12 minutes in low flame.



Once the steam goes off, open n drizzle spoonful of ghee and garnish with coriander leaves.



Yummy baby potato biryani ready..


Serve hot.!!

Note

1. Add less water as we are adding curd to it.

2. Be genourous in adding oil or ghee as needed as this rice will be very dry.

3. You can add fresh grounded masala also, I used everest shahi biryani masala.

4. You can roast coriander powder if you don't have seeds.

Make this yummy biryani n relish it.
