ORANGE CUP CAKES

Hey foodies,,,, its the season of orange... nice tangy sweet citrus fruit which is loved by all... either as cut fruit, or as a juice.

Here i bring you simple and yet tasty cup cakes with orangy flavor.


Ingredients: (My 1 cup measures 240 ml)

Plain flour (Maida) - 1 cup
Corn flour / Corn Starch - 1 tbsp
Baking Powder - 1/2 tsp
Baking Soda - 1/2 tsp
Orange Zest - 1 tsp
Oil - 1/4 cup
Orange Juice - 1 cup
Powdered Sugar - 1/2 cup




Method:

Take cooker, put 1 1/2 cups of salt and place wire stand and perforated plate and close the lid removing whistle for pre-heating.




In a bowl take flour, baking soda, baking powder and cornflour. Sieve well.






In another bowl add oil, sugar, orange zest, orange juice and mix well till sugar is melted.






Add the dry ingredients to this and mix well.



Divide the batter in two bowls n add 1/2 tsp color in one.





Fill the batter into the muffins mould one spoon from each bowl.






Place the cup cakes in pan in cooker n bake it for 20 - 22 mins or till the toothpicks come cleans when inserted in centre.






Tada... Cute Orangy cup cakes are ready.

Cool down to room temperature and relish it as such or decorate it with any frosting.

Note:

1. If preparing in Oven, bake at 180 degree celsius for 20-25 mins.

2. Can use whole wheat flour for healthier option

3. Can top the flour with nuts too.

4. Fresh orange juice better than canned one.

5. Orange Zest is nothing but grating the orange peel.
