Dates n dry fruit toffees


Yummy sweet treats for kids n of course elders, as it is healthy and nutritious which wud be liked by all.

There is no such specific recipe a such, you can increase ingredients as your wish...

Ingredients (measuring cup used, 1 cup = 250 ml)
1 cup chopped dates (either black or brown)
8-9 whole dry figs
2 to 3 tbsp almonds or badam
1 tbsp walnuts
2 tbsp raisins
1 to 2 tbsp cashews
1 to 2 tbsp desiccated (dry) coconut powder (optional)
2 green cardamom pods, peeled and seeds crushed.


Instruction :
First roast the almonds in a pan until browned. Keep stirring the almonds for even roasting, while the almonds are roasting, chop the dates and figs.


Also peel the cardamom pods and powder the seeds coarsely in mixie or just coarse it with rolling pin.



Grind the chopped dates, figs, raisins and keep it aside.



Now grind almonds, cashews and walnuts to a coarse powder.


Time to get your hands dirty.. ðŸ˜„.. Now mix both the mixtures very well.



Spread on a tray or plate to make as chikki or take the mixture in a bowl to make it as laddoo.


Make small balls with your hands and the healthy dry fruit toffees are ready.
Serve the dry fruits toffees immediately or store in an air tight container and refrigerate it.
They stays good for few days.

Notes:
1. No need to add sugar as its already sweet. 2. You can add your choice of dry fruits.
3. Can be made for festive seasons as quick and different than as usual.
4. Dry coconut can be omitted if you dont want coconut flavour in it.
5. Can be given any shape.. laddoo, chakki or as modak.
6. Can gift relatives or friends on festive occasion.
